 | Sterling Planet - Compass has teamed with Sterling Planet, Inc. to purchase enough
Green-e certified renewable energy to match the electricity use of all Compass apartments
and offices. Sterling Planet has supplied Compass with more than 1,100 megawatt
hours of emissions-free energy from wind, solar and hydro facilities. The environmental
benefit of the Compass purchase compares to preventing the release of more than
1.5 million pounds of carbon dioxide, the leading greenhouse gas contributor to
climate change. To achieve a similar environmental benefit, Americans would need
to take 132 cars off US roads for a year, or not drive about 1.7 million miles.
